Believe it or not, lots of walmarts have it, you just have to go to the desk in the sporting goods section. i cant prosmise your wal mart will though, not all do. If not go to other sporting goods stores, dont know why they seem to have it...it isnt like spraying peoples eyes out is a sport.

Wallmart has it most the time but if you would like to get it free , try your local police department . I know here in tennessee i got mine from the cops , all i did was tell them i needed protection and they gave me one . they will also issue you a gun ( if you are female ) free of charge for protection if you do not have a felony conviction .

If you get pepper spray just be careful about restrictions in different states and make sure its legal in yours. Some states have restrictions about buying pepper spray anywhere except at a licensed firearms dealer and others have restrictions about how old you have to be, the concentration of the pepper spray, safty features on the device, and others have restrictions on whether they can have tear gas or UV Dye in them (which most do). This is very important if you decide to travel with it anywhere. It may be legal for you to have it but if you decide to travel to Michigan or Wisconsin for instance and it has too high of a concentration then you could get a really expensive fine or worse.

You don't want your protection to get you in trouble so just make sure you are being careful about it.

pepper spray is good, but it's really not as plain and simple to use as it may look.  You have to be careful and know what you're doing.  I suggest taking some sort of small training on using it.  Any convenience store has it...what state are you in?
