Period smell

I change my pad quite frequently but I notice a terrible smell still. What can I do? Perfume just makes it smell like perfumed stench. And tampons scare me, I'd probably forget to take them out, get toxic shock syndrome and die.

even tampons dont hold the smell somtimes its just there. Try a dousch bag to clean out that sometimes helps to get rid of excess but other than that most girls deal with it.

(some of this advise came from a website for women)

Well you wont forget about them...you'll feel it when you'd go toilet...

but that smell i dont think its avoidable, sure its not too bad once you wash before sticking a new pad on (unless your not in the right place for it) but usualy washing it before a new pad decreases the smell a bit.

Stop being so pessimistic. The smell is normal, trust me no one can smell you, and tampons are way easier..tbh.

dont use perfume in that area at all
it just messes with your hormones and produces horrible smells
dont use perfumed pads iether, their pretty pointless

so long as your changing your pad every time you go to the toilet or at least every 4 hours, there shouldn't be a smell, it may be that you are very aware of it so are paranoid about it being worse than it is?

just make sure you shower at least once a day and it should be okay

Bath here and there, I don't use tampons and I'm 20.  When the smell seems unbearible you can always get wipes if you happen to be in a place where you can't properly wash.  Also scented pads aren't too bad.  If you change regularly then you don't have to worry about the smell as much, besides when was the last time you smelled another girl and knew she had her period?  I doubt anyone can smell you :p  Don't be paranoid.
