Do you know if you were born "naturally" or through caesarian section?

If you ever have children, which would be your preference?

I'm not really sure which option is better. Sure, a c-section may save your vagina from a lot of trauma, but it comes at the expense of your stomach. Seriously, they really cut deep down into your body - the staples they have to put in afterwards are grisly and the scarring is nasty.

But then, as I said, going the old fashioned route can mean horrible trauma for the most fragile and sensitive part of your body.

Both can leave you in terrible pain for months to come.

Life sucks. If the time ever comes to make that choice, it's gonna be tough.

I'm probably leaning more towards natural though. The idea of having my innards hacked apart like I've seen on TV sounds worse than anything.

I'm leaning towards natural. If that doesn't work, then a C-section.

emergency c-section.

pretty sure my mother's resentment of me started from that moment on considering she was so set on having a natural birth and then because she had had an emergency c-section with me, she wasn't allowed to have a natural birth with my brothers either.

I was c-section.

My daughter was born naturally. She would have been a c-section if she had been just a bit heavier though.

I was born naturally after a ridiculously long labor that resulted in both my mom and I having a massive infection.  I had to be hospitalized for a week after birth.  My mom begged for a csection after like 48 hrs, of which her water was broken about 40.  I was delivered after 72 hrs of labor.

I obviously will opt for a natural birth.  Natural birth is better for both the baby and the mother.  I do not believe that doctors around here wll do C-Sections electively because of the risks associated.

Natural.
And FYI your insides are not hacked apart via c-section.
And your vagina doesn't suffer "trauma".

You make everything sound like a torture method.

Well the way they have woman's stomach all cut open on TV just looks brutal...

And idk, My mom had me naturally and they had to cut her down there. She said it was terribly painful and took several months to heal.

I was a planned cesarean because my older brother was a cesarean and back in the 80s (just like today, ironically) it was "Once a cesarean, always a cesarean."

I had my son naturally.

Having a baby naturally doesn't leave you in pain for months. I was fine, upright, walking and using the bathroom just fine within an hour of birth.

Women who have cesareans are left in pain for months because it's major abdominal surgery that cuts through a lot of tissue and muscle. They cannot even get out of bed for hours if not a day or two and for weeks I've heard that even farting is horrendously painful.

Statistically cesareans are 3-4 times more dangerous than vaginal birth.

It's stupid to opt for them for no reason.

So true.
My mother's friend had her 7th/8th kids via c-section. They were twin girls, she hated it. She really didn't want one, but they had to because one of them was breached.

She said it felt HORRID afterwards, where as with her other kids, she felt far better.

I don't quite understand what the issue could be with giving birth naturally after having a c-section with a previous child... doesn't really make any sense. Wouldn't the doctors prefer to not have to do all that extra work?

And maybe my mum was just unlucky then? idk. I hope that doesn't happen to me.

I am pretty sure I was born through the natural way, but not positive. And I would want a C-section, for sure. The scarring is almost unnoticeable. Because the cut is made when your stomach is stretched out as much as it can be, and then the stomach shrinks, the "c" is hardly visible. I have seen women in person with these scars and you can only see the scars if they are pointed out. I'd rather take the scar over a vagina that will never be the same again.
