I think 16 is a little young to be having an abortion. If she has sex without a condom and expects not to get pregnant, then that's really stupid and she shouldn't continue to have abortions because it can do some real damage to your body. I don't really blame you for looking down on her, but just don't judge her. If I got pregnant today, I'd have an abortion: But only because I know I wouldn't be able to financially support a child. But I am very careful and wear a condom everytime.

Of course things can happen and women can still become pregnant while on birth control. But I do want to point out something about this girl. Women rarely come out after abortion all happy and giddy and careless. It takes a lot out of a human being, and the way one perceives the idea and procedure has everything to do with the way they are able to deal with it. Just because to you she seems as though the girl doesn't care, she probably does. Viewing it as a "speck" may only be a way for her to justify her actions. It has been researched and proven that when a woman refers to a baby as "it" and does not call it a baby, or a living human being, has great impact on her ability to deal with the aftermath of an abortion. You should probably think twice.

You can't help but see her differently, you're not a bad person. Everyone has their own views and opinions and there's nothing wrong with that. But seeing it as 'I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who acts like that' is a pretty warped view of it. Abortion is still a pretty taboo subject, although there have been millions done just in the past couple of years. It's a sensitive situation, and I doubt anyone can say anything to make you view it differently from the way you do now. If you don't want to be friends with her, that's fine. But don't do it until you're really ready to let go of a friendship because of her life choices, and think about if she would do the same.

She's on birth control. So, she has a valid reason to not expect to get pregnant. Condoms aren't 100% effective either, btw. Nothing is 100% really, unless you just have your reproductive organs taken out.

She is on birth control, she isn't being irresponsible. If she is having sex with birth control, condoms and pull up, she can still get pregnant. I think you are being a bit over judgemental, and honestly, if I were her and found out that you look down on her for making her own decisions, I wouldn't want to be friends with you. Until you are in her situation, or if you are having sex at all, you are being unreasonable. It can happen to you, just as easily as it could happen to her. She atleast knows what she would do if it were to happen and that is her right. She isn't ready to be a mother, and she is prepared for what she would do if she were to become pregnant again.

You are being hypcritical. If you are having sex, you are just as likely to get pregnant as she is. Condoms are no more effective, if even as effective as birth control.
No birth control is 100%, and anyone who has sex, could easily be in her shoes.

Regardless of whether or not she uses a condom, she is on birth control. She is taking precautions to prevent pregnancy.

Regardless of whether or not she uses a condom, she is on birth control. She is taking precautions to prevent pregnancy.
Well, I guess so. But she should also use a condom. Obviously birth control didn't help her the first time, so she should take extra precautions. If you miss one pill of birth control, you're fucked.

You do not know the circumstance revolving around her pregnancy. Even if she also uses a condom doesn't mean that she will not get pregnant. She has likely learned from her mistake, and when using birth control, she has the right now to use a condom. Most people do not like condoms, and while using birth control, view them as unnecessary.

with abortion, your killing a human life. i think thats DISGUSTING for someone to think lightly of. some people are mature enough to be having sex at that age, and are aware of the consequences. others are not.
